Juno

Juno, Purebred Husky, 2 - 2 1/2 yrs., 46 lbs. June is absolutely beautiful and those blue eyes are mesmerizing. She's a little shy but Juno is friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She needs someone who will love and care for her and she'll reward you with her loyalty.

Sweetpea

Sweetpea, Pointer/Hound Mix, 2-4 yrs., 25 lbs. Sweetpea is the cutest little gal and she's adjusting well to the good life in her foster home. She gets along well with the other dogs and is enjoying the attention and care she is receiving. If you are looking for a small dog with a friendly disposition and are willing to love and care for her, Sweetpea would be interested in meeting you!

Jay Jay

Jay Jay, Hound/Boxer mix, 18 mos., 58 lbs. Jay Jay is a lover and he thrives on companionship. He's a very friendly, gentle dog and is good with children and other dogs. Jay Jay has a big heart and he's hoping that a family will give him a permanent home and care and attention.

SAM

Sam, Walker Hound/English Coon Hound, 4 yrs., 48 lbs. Sam was a stray taken in by an extremely kind and generous older person who immediately took him to the vets to be checked out. She was unable to adopt him but she kept him until Flag was able to take him. Sam has so many redeeming qualities – he’s good with children, other dogs and cats. He’s very affectionate, has a gentle manner, and loves companionship. Oh, he is also housebroken. Sam is the perfect family dog and he will enrich your life.

MICKIE

Mickie, Pointer Mix, 2-4 years, 29 pounds Mickie is a very beautiful dog with a gentle nature. He is happy with other dogs but is very shy with people. If Mickie is given a lot of love and attention, he will learn to be comfortable with people, and he will know that he is safe in a good environment. You will have a happy dog and a happy pet owner.

ROSE

Rose, lemon and white Beagle, 5-8 yrs. 18 lbs. Flag has another wonderful dog in need of a permanent home with a loving family. Rose is ever so gentle and sweet and all she wants is a little attention. She has sad eyes that draw you to her.

MABEL

MABEL and MONA (below) are 12 month old hounds. Mona weighs 37 lbs. and Mable weighs 35 lbs. They are beautiful pups. They enjoy other dogs and are having a great time playing and running with the other dogs at the pens. They are typical pups - full of energy and enthusiasm!

QUINN

"Quinn" - spayed female Dalmatian/Lab mix, rescued as a puppy 7 years ago, very sweet disposition. Loves attention and walks. Up to date on all shots. Due to severe family medical emergency, Quinn’s family is desperate to find a new, loving home for her. She generally gets along better with larger male dogs, but does not particularly like cats. FLAG no longer has a volunteer able to safehouse cats and kittens awaiting adoption. Please check your local animal shelter and/or the newspaper for cats and kittens available for adoption. Some great cat/kitten rescue groups include: CARE, Somebuddies Inc., Henrico Humane & Hanover Humane

MARTHA- Adopted Feb. 24, 2010

Martha, Lab Mix, 6 – 8 months, 23 lbs. Someone dumped this beautiful pup on the side of the road and took off leaving her to fend for herself. Martha is a wonderful pup that thrives on love and companionship. She has the cutest face!! All Martha wants is a permanent home and good people to love and appreciate her.

RIGSBY- Adopted Jan. 24, 2010

Rigsby, Lab/Hound Mix, 1 year, 48 lbs. Rigsby is the most lovable dog and he’s beautiful too! Nothing makes him happier than a little attention and companionship. Of course a little body rub is always welcome! It’s hard to believe that such a great dog was picked up as a stray.

TYLER- Adopted Jan. 23, 2010

Tyler, Shepherd/Hound Mix, 10-12 mos., 31 lbs. Tyler is an enthusiastic and playful pup always looking for a good time. He will be happy to stop playing ball if you will give him some attention. He is extremely loving. Tyler was found with a collar and leash but no ID, and no one claimed him. Tyler will make someone a very happy dog owner.
